  1. John,
I really enjoy your perspective on social media. What suggestions do you have a medium size business and Twitter?

  2. In the short term, I would open a Twitter account under your brand-name and designate at least one person to manage it on a weekly basis. You can start by following known people in your industry; executives, authors, bloggers, etc., and simply listen to what people are saying. Through this action alone, you will attract followers. At the same time, you can start tweeting basic updates about your company’s activities and/or events.

After you are aclamated to Twitter and have a few hundred followers, you can begin running Twitter searches on your key words and identify people tweeting about you or your industry. Then you can start commenting on those tweets and/or engage with them directly to develop rapport, get referrals and/or influence them.
